Vintage Japanese double sided porcelain sign. This sign would be great as a decorative eye catcher at Japanese restaurant, a man cave/she shed or with a collection. The sign is the right size, not too big and not too small. At 18" long and 12" wide, it's a big display but won't overwhelm a kitchen or wall. The overall condition is very good considering its age and use.The sign has typical rust spots along the thin metal edges. There are rust spots dotted throughout the sign. (See pictures) MASUDAI SHOYU & MISO KAWASHIRI CITY (Kumamoto) Japan. One side of this unique sign reads "Soy Sauce" and the other "Miso", a Japanese fermented soy bean paste and Japanese staple food. There are very few of these in existence anymore. Japan is a wet and rainy country and most of these good old signs are gone. This is a rare item. The piece likely dates between 1940s and 1960s. I acquired this at an antique shop in Kumamoto, Japan in the 1990s. No return please on this item, examine the pictures and contact me if you have further questions.
