To protect both sides and the bulbs it will take a pretty good sized box. When I got the sign it needed 3 starters and 3 t12 24 bulbs, I put in all, w-6 pieces brand new. Lettereing shows up lighted as a burgandy-ish red. You will notice there is heavy relief in the lettering which is dramatic when seen.

This one is a show buster and double sided. There is minimal paint chipping on the edges where the bar owner has opened it up to change bulbs. Most of that chipping is covered up by the metal band that holds the sign in place Who-ever owned it took good care of the piece and it is proudly here. You sure don't see many of them. You will love this sign.
