Huge Vtg 13 ft Stainless Steel Curved Arrow Sign Retail Double Sided- 164 Bulbs

  

This fantastic vintage sign was salvaged from the exterior of a department store, where it was in use for many years. Measured along the curve, the arrow is over 13 feet long. The body of the arrow is around 10 inches thick and 7.5 inches wide on the sides with the light sockets. If installed in its original shape, it forms an arch that is approximately 8.5 feet wide and 4.75 feet tall.

As you can see in our photos, if reconfigured as an S-curve, it would be somewhat longer and thinner. Although in use outside for many years, this sign is still in quite good condition. It has some overall wear and surface oxidation.

There is some minor rust to some of the sockets and hardware, some of which has created stains on the body of the sign. Since the sign is made of stainless steel, it should be possible to polish and clean up the surface quite a bit. I believe it is wired so that the bulbs light up in some sort of "chasing" pattern that moves from the tail of the arrow to the tip. That said, I don't have the equipment, knowledge, or bulbs to test this sign, so I don't know if it currently is in a working state or not. The wires have been severed in the center where the sign was cut in half, but they are color coded and should be straightforward to reconnect.

Since it is double-sided, the sign could be used either flat against a wall or projecting out from a building. It would look great wrapped around a circular sign or pointing at an entrance. As you can see in our photos, because the arrow has been cut in half, one part of the sign could be flipped during installation, forming a gigantic S-curve. It could also be used indoors as an impressive wall decoration in a home, bar, or restaurant. In fact, if used on a wall, you could even have the sign cut down the middle, forming two complete one-sided arrows.
