Antique 1940's Perry's PRIDE Ice Cream Porcelain Double Sided Sign Tuscaloosa Al

  

Just under 20" x 28" and weighing about 9 pounds. This sign was found under the sidewalk of Shelly Ivey's Barber Shop in downtown LaFollette, Tennessee. The barber shop was built in 1950, which dates this sign to probably mid 1940's. Ivey was notoriously thrifty, he poured the blocks for the building he built in his front yard and drove a Model T up until the 1970's (You did not want to get behind him on a two lane road). He used this sign to hold the gravel back under the sidewalk for his coal chute.
